Rep. Williams On Solar Storms, Commends the Work of Paul Revere Films

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported on Tuesday that a series of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) occurred from the Sun on November 27. Over the next few days, some of these CMEs are expected to arrive at Earth, either passing nearby or as glancing blows.

While the impact of these solar storms is projected to be minimal, and their occurrence is not uncommon, events like these serve as reminders that solar storms, if powerful enough, have the potential to devastate our electric grid, hindering our supply chains, communications, and emergency services.

“This event should raise awareness that the powerful star which provides us with warmth and light also poses a unique threat to the modern world. We have to reinforce vulnerable infrastructure, including our electric grid, if we want the United States to be prepared for the kind of geomagnetic storm that may eventually endanger our way of life,” said Congressman Brandon Williams.

Paul Revere Films“Grid Down, Power Up” highlights the critical need to protect our power. This documentary will be released on Amazon and YouTube next week (Salem Now early). Urging swift action, it suggests appointing an authoritative Executive Agent who would possess the requisite authority to navigate bureaucratic challenges and effect swift, comprehensive, protective measures.

“Grid Down, Power Up is more than a movie, it's a movement we need every American to get behind. We’re excited about its commercial release this Pearl Harbor Day” said Dennis Quaid, the film’s award-winning narrator.

“What the nation needs is a ‘door-buster' authority figure, like General Leslie Groves, portrayed by Matt Damon in the blockbuster movie ‘Oppenheimer,’ with the power and tenacity to break through bureaucratic roadblocks and ensure our country’s survival,” said Paul Revere Films CEO David Tice.

Brandon Williams is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Brandon is a naval veteran, having served as a Nuclear Submarine Officer, is an entrepreneur, and a devoted husband and father. He currently resides in Central New York with his wife of over 30 years and their dog Beatrice.
