Rep. Williams on PASSAGE of Co-Sponsored Legislation Condemning Hamas for Rape and Sexual Violence

“Testimonies given by victims of the October 7th attack detailed horrific acts of violence against civilians, all of which must be decisively condemned. We’ve heard from released hostages about instances of sexual assault and abuse that took place during their captivity—it is evident that Hamas continues to use rape and other forms of sexual violence as a weapon of war," said Congressman Williams. “There is no political objective that justifies their blood-lust and inhuman brutality. They must not only be condemned, but must be destroyed and their ideology condemned by the entire civilized world.”

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Brandon Williams (NY-22) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.Res.966, which passed by an overwhelming, bipartisan majority on Wednesday evening:

“Testimonies given by victims of the October 7th attack detailed horrific acts of violence against civilians, all of which must be decisively condemned. We’ve heard from released hostages about instances of sexual assault and abuse that took place during their captivity—it is evident that Hamas continues to use rape and other forms of sexual violence as a weapon of war.

“There is no political objective that justifies their blood-lust and inhuman brutality.  They must not only be condemned, but must be destroyed and their ideology condemned by the entire civilized world.”
