Rep. Williams Joins New York Members to Honor Slain Police Officer

“There is so much more that we must do, at the policy level, to prevent more tragedies like these from occurring, to prevent career criminals from destroying families like this one. Radical policies like no-cash bail cannot continue. Willful ignorance from elected officials cannot continue. Preventable killings like this cannot continue.”

WASHINGTON — Last night, Congressman Brandon Williams (NY-22) joined a Special Order on the House floor hosted by Rep. Anthony D’Esposito (NY-04), to speak about the murder of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, who was shot during a routine traffic stop in Queens by an individual with 21 previous arrests.

“There is so much more that we must do, at the policy level, to prevent more tragedies like these from occurring, to prevent career criminals from destroying families like this one. Radical policies like no-cash bail cannot continue. Willful ignorance from elected officials cannot continue. Preventable killings like this cannot continue,” said Congressman Williams.
