Rep. Williams Voices Support for Rep. Fitzpatrick’s Discharge Petition to Bring Vote to House Floor

“Every hour, it’s increasingly evident that the House Rules Committee will prevent Representatives of the American people from voting on support for our allies. But there is still hope. I joined a small, bipartisan group of legislators in signing Rep. Fitzpatrick’s Discharge Petition, which would break through this dysfunction and advance this important vote to the House floor,” said Congressman Williams.

WASHINGTON, DC Congressman Brandon Williams (NY-22) is one of sixteen signatories on Discharge Petition No. 10, which would bring a vote on the Defending Borders, Defending Democracies Act to the House Floor. This legislation includes provisions to promote American border security and provide strict military aid to Israel, Ukraine, and America’s allies in the Indo-Pacific, including Taiwan.

“Our enemies are launching ballistic missiles and suicide drones at Israel, sending waves of conscripts into a deadly conflict in Ukraine, and staring down the rest of the free world as America hesitates. Our allies look to us to make good on our word and honor our commitment to them, that we will not abandon them.”
