Hi Folks!
At the beginning of this week, the United States Department of Commerce announced a pivotal grant being awarded to Central New York to spur semiconductor manufacturing in the region.
I've worked with members of Congress across Upstate New York to advocate for this funding, and it's great to see the NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub receive this rare distinction and support from the federal government.
On Thursday, Stephanie and I were able to join with many of you across our district, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experience. Thank you to everyone who beat the heat and came out to celebrate Independence Day!
Here are the items we'll cover in today's newsletter: - Phase 2 Funding Announced for Tech Hubs - New Details
- Independence Day Celebrations Across NY-22
- Constituent Services Update
- Now Accepting Internship Applications

A Message from Rep. Brandon Williams:
Our 22nd Congressional District encompasses all of Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga counties, and a sliver of Oswego County. As always, I am working to support families in CNY and the Mohawk Valley, improve our local infrastructure, grow manufacturing, and rein-in energy costs through common sense engineering and business practices. As a Navy Veteran, I stand with and for our veterans. I am protecting Social Security and Medicare for our elderly, and I always speak up for our law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders.

This week, it was announced that the New York Semiconductor Manufacturing and Research Technology Innovation Corridor (NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub) has been selected to receive the Phase 2 Tech Hubs Implementation Grant from the United States Economic Development Association.
One of just twelve awardees nationwide, Central New York’s Tech Hub and the $40,000,000 it's set to receive will play a pivotal role in creating work opportunities in a critical sector for underserved communities.
I was able to work directly with local stakeholders and across branches of government to advocate for this landmark funding, which will be vital to the improvement of semiconductor manufacturing capacity and workforce development in Central New York.
Central New York, the Silicon Empire, is the beating heart of semiconductor production right here in the United States. I’ve joined colleagues in Congress, across the aisle and across Upstate New York, to advance this priority. This announcement is a win for our communities, and I’m proud to be a part of this milestone.
More information about the Phase 2 Grant and its awardees can be found here.

This week, Stephanie and I were able to join folks across the district in celebrating Independence Day. I'm thankful to everyone in Manlius, Cazenovia, and Hamilton who came out to join us in recognition of our nation's founding.
This week, President Kennedy's words have been particularly impactful to me:
"Ask not what your country can do for you... Ask what you can do for your country."
At the time of President Kennedy's inaugural address, he was speaking to Americans who had just endured immense hardship following World War II and the Korean War. Many had served overseas or joined the labor force for the first time, to support the wartime economy.
During a time when Americans had given so much, President Kennedy charged them once again to consider how they could go about, with their own hands, contributing to the prosperity of the nation they called home. These were difficult words, but they were spoken to men and women who had endured difficulty for their country before. They would not fall on deaf ears.
We are once again at a point in time where each of us must respond to this clarion call in our own way. Behind the fireworks and gatherings, we're reminded on every Fourth of July that America was won through grit and determination. It's with these same values that we must diligently steward the blessings of liberty for future generations.
I chose to serve in Congress for this reason. However, we all have an important role to play in answering this call, wherever we are. I firmly believe America's best days are ahead of us, because the men and women I have the privilege of interacting with every day, in our district and nationwide, have the same resilient and tenacious spirit that Americans have shared for centuries. No challenge is too big for Americans.
