This week's newsletter will cover some of our recent work in the district, as well as my office's priorities moving into this year. It's my hope that we can spend this year moving the needle in the areas that matter most for Central New York and Mohawk Valley families.

A Message from Rep. Brandon Williams:

Our 22nd Congressional District encompasses all of Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga counties, and a sliver of Oswego County. As always, I am working to support families in CNY and the Mohawk Valley, improve our local infrastructure, grow manufacturing, and rein-in energy costs through common sense engineering and business practices. As a Navy Veteran, I stand with and for our veterans. I am protecting Social Security and Medicare for our elderly, and I always speak up for our law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders.

Rep. Williams on the tragedy in Rochester

Two lives were tragically taken in a senseless act of violence at a concert in Rochester last week. My thoughts are with the entire community during this difficult time, and my deepest sympathies are with the families of the victims. I will continue to monitor this situation as information develops.

On Friday, I announced the nominations of 20 local students to the United States Service Academies. It is my distinct honor and privilege to nominate exceptional candidates from our district to the Service Academies, in recognition of their will to serve our country and become leaders for our community and nation. Rep. Williams comments on Dr. Gay's resignation

We found out on Tuesday that the former President of Harvard University, Dr. Claudine Gay, resigned from her position at the head of the university.

Dr. Gay sat back and watched as antisemitism took root on Harvard’s campus, refused to take action, and put Jewish students at risk. It is my hope that Harvard’s next president favors decisive action instead of bowing down to fringe hatred.

Rep. Williams provides solutions to swatting attempts

It's time to talk about solutions.

Since the swatting call against my family on Christmas Day, public officials on both sides of the aisle have become victims of this form of intimidation, through which extremists attempt to use police to harm others. While I was fortunate enough to receive a call in advance, most victims of these calls have no forewarning before they and police are placed in a potentially life-threatening situation.

We have the technology to curtail these abuses. I spoke with Newsmax about what Congress can do to keep people safe from calls like these.
