Hi Folks!
American prosperity is fundamentally tied to American labor. We celebrate Labor Day in recognition of the working men and women who build and maintain critical infrastructure, provide essential services, and manufacture products used worldwide every day.
We must keep working to ensure that Central New Yorkers have access to well-paying work, so they can live and raise families right here in NY-22. I'd like to wish you and your family a restful and safe Labor Day.
I spent this week in our district, meeting with constituents, local business owners, and more. As Congress prepares to return to session soon, I'm working hard to hear from Central New Yorkers about what they want to see out of Washington.
Here are the items we'll cover in today's newsletter: - Armed Forces Day at the New York State Fair
- Veterans Resource Fair in Utica on September 6
- Cosponsoring the Early Access to Screening Act
- HMI Metal Powders Facility Visit
- Other Meetings Across NY-22

A Message from Rep. Brandon Williams:
Our 22nd Congressional District encompasses all of Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga counties, and a sliver of Oswego County. As always, I am working to support families in CNY and the Mohawk Valley, improve our local infrastructure, grow manufacturing, and rein-in energy costs through common sense engineering and business practices. As a Navy Veteran, I stand with and for our veterans. I am protecting Social Security and Medicare for our elderly, and I always speak up for our law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders.

On Thursday, I had the opportunity to speak at the State Fair, during a ceremony dedicated to the Gold Star Families in attendance. Together, we honored the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
The event was organized by Mike LaNasa, who has tirelessly dedicated himself to helping others recognize and remember the service of America's veterans since he completed his military service decades ago.

This Friday, September 6, my office will host a Veterans Resource Fair in Utica. Like June's Resource Fair in Solvay, organizations across CNY will come together to showcase the wide variety of services they offer to local veterans and their families.
The event will take place at the Utica Development Center (726 Washington Street, Utica, NY 13502), from 1:00-4:00pm. In the meantime, if you or a veteran in your family need help with the VA, call my District Office at 315-233-4333.

This week, Congressman Mike Lawler introduced the Early Access to Screening Act, which I joined as an original cosponsor. The legislation will lower the age threshold for yearly, no-cost breast cancer screenings through Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance from 40 to 30.
This bill expands affordable access to care for women across America who may need it, which is especially important as we witness an increase in the incidence rate of breast cancer among women under 40.

American national security runs through New York. HMI Metal Powders in Clayville manufactures super-alloy powders used in the production of both commercial and military engines, and they employ 400 people in Oneida County.
I joined County Executive Picente, Senator Griffo, and Assemblyman Miller in a joint visit of their facility today to discuss their continued investment in New York, as well as their plans to grow their workforce in our community.

This week, I also had the opportunity to serve lunch and visit with the Jordan-Elbridge Seniors Club, attend a Q/A forum at the Syracuse Jewish Community Center, share a few words at a flag-raising ceremony outside of City Hall, and dial in with NewsRadio 570 WSYR and Talk! 100.7 for morning interviews.

Trained caseworkers can assist with agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. While we cannot guarantee a favorable outcome, we will do our best to help you receive a fair and timely response to your problem.
NY-22 residents can contact our Syracuse (315-233-4333) or Utica (315-732-0713) offices for assistance. You can also submit a request on my website, here.
