Hi Folks!

This past week, I was in D.C. and working hard for our district. Every day is an opportunity to serve our communities and families, and I strive to make the most of the time I have to work for you.

A Message from Rep. Brandon Williams:

Our 22nd Congressional District encompasses all of Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga counties, and a sliver of Oswego County. As always, I am working to support families in CNY and the Mohawk Valley, improve our local infrastructure, grow manufacturing, and rein-in energy costs through common sense engineering and business practices. As a Navy Veteran, I stand with and for our veterans. I am protecting Social Security and Medicare for our elderly, and I always speak up for our law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders.

Rep. Williams voted to avoid government shutdown

I'm happy to report that Congress has approved a short-term funding measure to keep the government funded through the new year. This two-step funding plan responsibly keeps our government open and prevents an irresponsible "Christmas Omnibus."

After passing through the House of Representatives, Speaker Johnson's plan was passed in the Senate by an overwhelming, bipartisan vote of 87-11. Now, Congress can spend the coming months negotiating long-term, responsible spending plans and get back to regular order with 12 individual appropriation bills.

Rep. Williams questions witnesses at Education and Workforce Hearing on antisemitism

On Tuesday, the Education and Workforce Committee held a hearing on antisemitism in education.

As I spoke with the hearing's panelists, I made one thing abundantly clear: if you espouse or allow antisemitism to remain on your campus, you are my enemy, and the enemy of decent civilization.

I stand with the Jewish community and I especially stand with the Jewish students here in Central New York.

The growing sickness of antisemitism must be condemned, always.

Rep. Williams discusses Navy deploying nuclear submarine to Middle East

I was able to speak briefly with Liz Claman of Fox Business this week. We discussed America's submarine capabilities and assets in the Middle East (information announced by the U.S. Navy) and the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, among other things.

I always look forward to getting in touch with our local radio hosts and giving an update on what's happening in Washington. On Wednesday, I sat down with Dave Allen on WSYR to speak directly to issues of the world and those impacting us locally; government funding and the March for Israel were big topics this week.
