Hi Folks!
I'm proud to announce that our office passed two bills this week alone. It's an honor to advocate for CNY families in Congress, and I'm going to keep doing so in every way I can. We're going to keep moving the needle on important policy objectives and faithfully perform the People's business, as is our duty.
Here is a snapshot of what I've been doing this week: - Passed my bipartisan bill, the DOE/NASA Interagency Coordination Act (H.R. 2988)
- Passed the bipartisan DETERRENT Act (H.R. 5933)
- Questioned university presidents in a committee hearing to address unchecked anti-Jewish hate on campuses today
- A personal note

A Message from Rep. Brandon Williams:
Our 22nd Congressional District encompasses all of Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga counties, and a sliver of Oswego County. As always, I am working to support families in CNY and the Mohawk Valley, improve our local infrastructure, grow manufacturing, and rein-in energy costs through common sense engineering and business practices. As a Navy Veteran, I stand with and for our veterans. I am protecting Social Security and Medicare for our elderly, and I always speak up for our law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders.

As our Jewish friends begin to celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, we are reminded that even in the dark days that Israel has faced in recent months, light always prevails.
Happy Hanukkah!

H.R. 2988, the DOE and NASA Interagency Research Coordination Act, just passed through the House of Representatives with bipartisan support. I'm proud to have introduced this bill with Congressman Eric Sorensen.
This legislation asserts our commitment to maintaining American leadership in areas like nuclear propulsion systems, quantum information sciences, and high-energy physics. By enhancing research coordination between the Department of Energy and NASA, we ensure that our resources are aligned in a shared pursuit of scientific exceptionalism which will benefit Americans for generations to come.

Likewise, H.R. 5933, the DETERRENT Act, passed through the House with bipartisan support. As a cosponsor of this legislation, I am thankful that Congress recognizes the need for accountability and transparency in foreign dealings with higher education.
America's foreign adversaries target our nation's students, stealing research, pushing propaganda, and lining the pockets of our institutions to get away with it.
The DETERRENT Act expands oversight and disclosure requirements related to foreign sources and institutions of higher education. In doing so, it makes it more difficult for foreign governments to influence American higher education in secret. This legislation is a necessary step toward ensuring that our nation's students are able to learn without foreign interference.

On Wednesday, the Committee on Education and the Workforce held a hearing to get to the bottom of persistent anti-Jewish hatred on the campuses of some of our nation's most noteworthy universities.
Why, with the amount of federal money our taxpayers provide these universities, has the genocidal rhetoric we've witnessed in recent months gone unaddressed?
I had the opportunity to ask university officials directly.

On a personal note, please watch my remarks on the House floor honoring my mother, Judy Williams, who passed away this week. Intelligent, fun, and generous, she remains an inspiration to me, and I strive to honor her through public service.
